Marion Delores Carter Childers

Born September 10, 1926 in Charlotte NC to Luther and Suzie Carter, Marion was a beautiful woman blessed with a loving, generous and vivacious spirit. Marion never met a stranger and left a smile in the hearts of everyone she met. With her immense love of family and friends Marion was happiest bringing smiles and laughter by sharing stories of entertaining the troops during WWII and working in the entertainment industry.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband Bill, two infant children, John and Suzie, one son, Steven, four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Vickie) of Longview TX, Mitch of Charlotte, two daughters, Mary Taylor (Ricky) of Monroe and Amy of Charlotte, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, special friend sister in law Sandy Carter as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Marion was a gift to all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed by all including her much-loved animals.

A memorial service will be held 3:00p.m., Friday, August 6 in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
