Born in Lincolnton, NC on September 24, 1943 to James Woodrow Clayton and Carlene Wallis Harris Clayton, Jackie graduated from Garinger Senior High School in Charlotte, NC and then went on to spend 25 years as a claims adjuster with Travelers Insurance.
Jackie loved to spend time cross-stitching, watching movies but most of all, she loved spending time at the beach with her grandchildren.
Left to mourn her loss are her sons Anthony Carrelli of Fort Myers and Billy S. May of Heath Springs, SC; grandchildren Kailyn Carreth, Jurni May and Brynleigh May along with sister Frieda D Clayton of Jacksonville, FL.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, brother Wallace Clayton and husband Billy A. May.
Calling hours are set for Friday, March 17, 2023 from 5:30 to 7:30pm at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the scheduled funeral service at 11am on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Burial will immediately follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
