

Mr. Morris was born April 3, 1926 to the late Gilbert and Viola Morris in Cordele, Georgia. He moved to Portsmouth, VA in 1936 and lived there until relocating to Charlotte in 1955. Mr. Morris was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Fourth Armored Division of Patton’s 3rd Army. He was a heating and air contractor for a number of years and retired as a salesman in home improvements from Sears. Mr. Morris was a member of Plaza Presbyterian Church, having served as a deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher and choir member. He resided for the past several years at Wilora Lake Lodge. In addition to his parents, Mr. Morris was preceded in death by a brother, John Morris.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife of 44 years, Becky McCulloch Morris, daughters, Judith Morris Mabe of Salisbury, Jane Morris Brian of Rock Hill; granddaughter, Jill Stikeleather (James); grandsons, Tim Brian (Jodi), Christopher Wright; great-grandchildren, Candice Stilwell, Hendrix Wright all of Rock Hill; brothers, Gilbert Morris (Hattie) of Rockford, IL, Robert Morris (Helen) of Louisville, KY; sisters, Patricia McIntosh of Suffolk, VA, Elizabeth Jackson of Chesapeake, VA, Marie Knight of New Market, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11:00a.m., Saturday, September 8 in Sharon Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Robert S. Owens officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday following the graveside service at the cemetery.
