Marsha Y. Wilkinson, 79, of Charlotte, NC by way of Boston, MA, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026. The eldest child of the late Urlga & Lloyd Wilkinson, Marsha was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, and she will be dearly missed by those she left behind. Marsha was a dedicated nurse for 40 years; she cared for her patients as deeply as she cared for her friends and family. Her comforting nature and gentle wisdom made Marsha an exemplary nurse, and these same qualities made her a rock in the Wilkinson family. Marsha was always quick with a kind word and a smile, but she had a wicked sense of humor that would have her family in stitches.
Marsha was an active member of her church community, leading the Children’s Bible Study & Sunday School for nearly thirty years. She was a beloved teacher, sharing her faith with clarity, profound devotion, and an open mind, often challenging her young charges in ways that brought them closer to God. Her faith was unshakable, and it brings her family comfort to know that she has been reunited with her parents and her brother in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Predeceased by her youngest brother, Andrew Wilkinson, Marsha was the rock on whom both her parents leaned in their twilight years. Her surviving siblings, Neville Wilkinson and Linda Thompson (nee Wilkinson), as well has her sister in law Lorraine Wilkinson, along with her nieces & nephews, John Edward Thompson, Ayanna Thompson, Lillian Wilkinson, Madeline & Ricardo Ceballos Wilkinson, Nicole Wilkinson & Keegan Pace, Rebecca Wilkinson, Natalie Wilkinson, & Jessica Wilkinson, will miss her terribly.
The family will receive friends starting at 10am on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel located at 10500 Park Road in Charlotte. Funeral service will begin at noon in the McEwen Chapel.
Burial is scheduled for 10am on Monday, April 27, 2026 at Sharon Memorial Park located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte.
