Martha Stegall Jarrell

Mrs. Jarrell, age 79, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. Born February 7, 1934 in Charlotte, she was the daughter of the late William D. Stegall and Margaret Poteat Stegall. Mrs. Jarrell was a homemaker and served as a Democratic Judge of Elections for over 20 years. She was an active member of New Covenant ARP Church. Mrs. Jarrell, along with her husband, delivered Friendship Trays to the elderly and disabled for 16 years.

The service to celebrate the Life of Martha Stegall Jarrell will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18th at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service with The Reverend Scott Robar, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Luther Jarrell; three children, Nancy Jarrell Ross of Charlotte, Charles E. Jarrell and wife, Brenda, of New London and Glenn Wayne Jarrell and wife, Jamela, of Fayetteville; and two grandsons, Christopher Jarrell and wife, Joanne and Stephen Jarrell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jarrell was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Stegall.
