

Martha Bright Taylor, 87, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on the 7th of May, 2025. She was born on the 30th of March, 1938, in Slater, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of Ernest Manley Bright and Inez Bloodworth Bright. Martha was the youngest of seven children.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, the 17th of May, 2025 at McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West. Inurnment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow at the funeral home.
Martha had a zest for life and a love for adventure. She enjoyed camping, going on cruises, and spending time with friends. She was an active member of the Zodiac Dance Club and the Belmont Highlanders Club.
A proud graduate of West Mecklenburg High School, Class of 1956, Martha went on to become a dedicated beautician and later worked as an accountant and payroll manager for several companies.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Billy Taylor, and his wife Sharree; her grandson, Richard Taylor; her sister, Betty McClure; her special niece, Brenda Early; and many other nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her lifelong friend, Shirley Kiser Whitehead, for her unwavering love, support, and care throughout Martha’s illness and beyond.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Dementia Society of America in Martha’s memory.
