Mrs. Martha Jo Lewis Wilson-Claar, 76, and affectionately known as "Jo Jo", passed away on December 1, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Batesburg, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Warren Wilson, and by a sister, Linda.
"Jo Jo" is survived by her husband, Shepard Kaye Claar, of the home; her son, Clay Wilson of Charlotte; by her daughter, Rebecca Hicks and husband Mike of Well Springs, NC; by brothers and sisters, Chuck, Don, Sandy, Gail, and Bruce; by a sister-in-law, Sylvia Kelly of Centerville, Ohio; by Granddaughter, Jasmine HIcks; stepson, Geoffrey Claar of Tennessee; stepdaughter Melissa Ellison and husband Richard of Pineville, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating Jo Jo's life will be held at a later date. Further details will be posted as they become available.
