We celebrate a life well lived! Mary Hunnicutt Hastings lived her life for her family and those she loved.
A native North Carolinian, she never wandered far from home. Home was her peace and home is where she rests with Jesus. She lived a life, caring for others first as a wife of the late Melvin V Hastings for 60 years, as an adoring mom of three daughters and as a CNA for Merrywood assisted living. Her favorite place was her back porch where she entertained many friends. She always had something sweet to offer and would never let anyone go hungry. She made the best chocolate pound cake around! Mary was so very loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She spent the remainder of her life living at Carmel Hills residence. The caregivers there loved her well. They often said “She always makes us laugh.”
Mary leaves her legacy of three daughters, Tammy Wise (husband Alan), Amy Puthenveetil (husband Reji) and Stacy Lancaster (husband Ritchie.) She has nine grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was a member of First Baptist Indian Trail. Donations can be made to Carmel Hills Assisted Living in honor of Mary H. Hastings.
