Mary Dale Hatley

With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully and faithfully lived, we announce the passing of Mary Byrd Hatley, affectionately known as “Tish”, who entered eternal rest on June 30, 2025, at the age of 93.

Born on September 7, 1931, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Tish spent most of her life in Charlotte, NC, and Wrightsville Beach, NC—two places that reflected her love for both community and nature. She lived with grace, humility, and a deep, abiding faith in Christ.

Tish was a devoted follower of Jesus whose faith shaped every aspect of her life. She gave freely of her time, volunteering with numerous Christian organizations. She loved her church, prayer groups, and was always eager to serve and support those around her with a giving heart.

She found joy in the simple blessings and time shared with friends and family. She especially enjoyed their company, treasuring moments of laughter, conversation, and connection throughout her long and meaningful life.

She is survived by her son, Robert, and his wife Katia, their family, her granddaughter Sarah, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will continue to carry her memory forward with love.

Tish’s legacy is one of faith, devotion, and compassion—a strength that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

A memorial service will be held at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 2027 Emerywood Drive, Charlotte, NC 28210, July 8, 2025 at 1:00 to honor her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a Christian charity or organization of your choice, or that an act of kindness be done in her memory.
