Mrs. Kirby, age 84, of Charlotte passed away June 21, 2012 at her residence.
She was born July 25, 1927 in Fulton County, Georgia the daughter of the late John Brooks Burke and Edith Irene Pounds. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick Austin Kirby; brothers, John Burke and Frank Burke; and twin sister, Margaret Johnson.
Mrs. Kirby was a longtime member of Park Road Baptist Church of Charlotte. She retired from Charlotte Pipe Foundry after a long career as their receptionist.
Surviving are her daughter, Na’Nette K. White and husband Jerald L. White of Indian Trail; granddaughters, April LeClear and husband Ryan and Ashley White; and numerous other loving family members.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 23, 2012 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
