

She was born on May 24, 1940 in Rutherford County, NC and died June 30, 2012 in Winchester, MA.
After graduating high school, she moved to New York City and lived for nearly 20 years, before moving back to Charlotte in 1977.
Ms. Maurice began her professional career in New York City working as an executive assistant in the legal and advertising industries; eventually returned to Charlotte and continued with Cameron M. Harris Insurance, Bank of America, Sun Life, and Glenayre.
Marilyn will be remembered as a loving, gentle soul with elegance and a warm, wonderful smile.
She was a member of Calvary Church.
Her hobbies included tennis, cooking, gardening, singing, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, and sister, Lisa Hilton, and survived by sisters, Jane Ebermayer and Martha Bailey; daughters, Laurie Shelton and Karen Donovan; and four loving grandchildren.

The Maurice family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Harry and Bryant Company. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Entombment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
