Mary McKinnon Miller

Mary Anne McKinnon Miller, 82 of Charlotte, NC died Saturday April 19, 2014 at her residence. She is the daughter of the late Hal and Myrtle Brewer McKinnon of Biscoe, North Carolina. Mary Anne graduated from The Presbyterian School of Nursing in 1953 and was a registered nurse for 40 years working at Charlotte Memorial Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital, Wesley Retirement Home & Sharon Towers, until her retirement from nursing in 1993. Following retirement she worked for several years as a part time cash register assistant at Blackhawk Hardware in Charlotte. Mary Anne was a long time member of Calvary Church in Charlotte, where she actively participated in the choir for many years.

She is survived by two sons, "Chip" Dana S Miller & wife Monica, grandchildren Doug & Janie of Waxhaw, North Carolina and Steven D Miller and wife Julie, granddaughter Lucy of Wilmington, North Carolina and one brother, Howard McKinnon of Asheboro, North Carolina. Visitation will be Thursday, May 1 from 6-7:30 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Home at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 @ 11 a.m. at Calvary Church with burial to follow in Sharon Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road Charlotte, NC 28226.
