

Born on the 3rd of February, 1943 in Robbinsville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lela Faye Lee Sisk of Mt. Holly. Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George A. Pope, her grandson, Nathan Pope, her great grandson, Donovan Butler, her parents, Robert and Faye Sisk, and 3 sisters, Judy Alwran, Doris Nash and Geraldine Jarrett.
She is survived by her two sons:, Jeff Pope and his wife, Kellie, of Belmont and Robbie Pope of Belmont; one granddaughter, Madison Butler and her husband, Forrest, of Tryon; one great granddaughter, Georgia Bleu Butler and one great grandson, Roscoe Butler, both of Tryon; one brother, Donald Sisk and his wife, Debbie, of Gastonia; and one sister, Linda Carpenter, of Swansboro; and her brother and sister-in-law, James and Sandra Pope of Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sue was a longtime member of Mulberry Baptist Church in Charlotte where she loved to donate food and clothing to the ministry they had to clothe and feed those in need in the community. She worked at Fredrickson Motor Express doing payroll where she had perfect attendance for 35 years. She retired from LT Mechanical, Inc. in Charlotte where she also did payroll.
The Pope family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 on Wednesday, the 20th of August, 2025 in the Chapel of McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West. A service to celebrate her life will follow in the Chapel at 11:00 AM. A private committal will be held in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
