A native of Mecklenburg County, Mrs. Rawdon was born to the late Roy Hartsell and Idabelle Whitley Hartsell on March 27, 1938. She worked at Jones and Presnell Studios and retired from Carolinas Medical Center. Mrs. Rawdon was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church and an active member of the Xi Beta Epsilon Soriety.
Mrs. Rawdon is survived by her husband of 46 years, Warren Rawdon of the home; sister, Edna Hartsell Strider of Charlotte; Brothers-in-law, J.B. Lisk of Charlotte, M.R. Rawdon and wife Martha of Concord; nieces, Marsha Strider Love and husband David of Charlotte, Donna Strider Oliver and husband Tommy of Charlotte; great-nieces, Ashley and Sarah Love and great-nephew, Trey Oliver.
A funeral service will be held 3:00pm, Monday, April 25 at McEwen Funeral Services, Derita Chapel with Rev. Keith Whitener and Rev. Scott Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1:30pm to 3:00pm, Monday at the funeral home.
