Mary C. Shope

Mrs. Shope, age 87, of Charlotte, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at The Brian Center. Born June 13, 1925 in Goldston, she was a daughter of the late James Lern Caviness and Bessie Ann Hilliard Caviness. Mrs. Shope was a homemaker. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a former member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, Jan 7th at New Hope Baptist Church with Reverend Todd Knock, officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Sunday at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Wayne H, Shope of the home; daughter, Linda Ann Smith and her husband, Donald, of Charlotte; three brothers, Floyd, George and James Caviness, all of Sanford; four sisters, Beulah Mae Hicks of Goldston, Rosie Neal of Sanford, Carolyn Litz of Bristol, VA and Gracie Zimmerman of High Point; a grandson, Grant Smith, his wife, Mollie and their three children, Ethan, Caitlin and Sabrina, all of Ft. Mill, SC.
