Mary Porter Wilber

She was born in Mabelton, Georgia to Davis Hezekiah Porter and Fannie Lou Cross. She met and married Charles Alex Wilber, while working in Atlanta, Georgia. They later moved to Charlotte where they became parents to Don, Sharon, Beth, Lisa and Laura.

Mary loved her family, but her devotion to God was her highest calling. She was a member of Carmel Baptist Church and then later, Calvary Church. She loved singing in the choir and served on many mission trips. Her love for the Lord radiated in her beautiful smile and kind words to everyone.

She leaves a beautiful legacy to her five children, Don (Regina) Wilber, Sharon (Paul)

Crompton, Beth Fox, Lisa Wilber (Marcos), and Laura Wilber. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Desiree and Donnie Wilber, Danielle and Katy Crompton (Andy) Wells, Austin, Abby, Preston

(Katherine) and Brandon Fox, Mason (Hayn) Jackson, and Julien and Juliette Ross, and eight great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Grace Jones, Viola Flynn and Pat Hendrix. Mary

Mary was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Charles Wilber.

Special thanks and love to Sharon Crompton for her beautiful, loving full time care of her mother, as well as the many prayer warriors and Stanly County hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse or any local church missions.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 8th at 3:00pm at Calvary Church (chapel). Family will

greet friends from 2:00-3:00pm. Graveside burial will be immediately following at Sharon Memorial Park.
