Its with a very heavy heart that i write this. My deepest  sympathy for MJ's wife and daughters that I know he loved dearly.  I  never met a funnier guy that made me laugh every time I saw him. I will miss him.

I'm so sorry to hear of MJ's passing. He was one of our customers at Golf Galaxy. MJ's was always such a pleasure to have in the store. He always came in with a big smile and so friendly to everyone...he will be missed. My condolences to his family.

M.J. was a great man with devotion to his job and his life. Me and M.J were former co-workers with the State and County. He loved his work and his life.

Zarin, Sarah and Shirin I was so sorry to hear of MJ's passing. I worked along side of MJ for 13 years with Mecklenburg County Land Development before his retirement. He was a good friend that loved his family and would glow with pride as he spoke of both his daughters accomplishments. He will be missed by all who knew him. My prayers will continue to be lifted up for your family during this grieving time.

MJ was such a sincere person who was so family-oriented, funny, professional and a great asset to the engineering community. My deepest condolences for his wife and children. He will be sorely missed. Many thanks to MJ for the work experience. A wonderful person.

Saddened to hear of M.J.'s passing. Working with him in his positions at NCDOT and for the towns for nearly 25 years allowed many to see his high standards for his work. Beyond his career was his love for family and his heritage, some had the privelage of knowing him beyond his work to his passions.May those memories continue to give strength during this time.

My sincere condolences to Zarin and her daughters. I worked for several years with "MJ" at Mecklenburg County. I heard of his passing today at noon and was deeply saddened. He was the brightspot to my days at work, always with a smile and his infectious laugh.  Anyone who met him felt like they had been friends for some time.  He was a warm,and sincere friend. He was so proud of his family and he glowed when he talked about his lovely daughters. I have been blessed to have known him.  Rest in peace my friend.  We will meet again and laugh again.

I will never forget MJ.  He was a brilliant man with the best sense of humor of anyone I have ever known. He really cared about the towns that he worked for and he wanted things to be done right. He was so kind and had such a huge heart.  I am so sorry to not see that sweet smile and hear that lovely accent again. He could never pronounce Shanamara correctly and we all would get so tickled when he had to say it in council meeting. He was a unique, one of a kind man.  He loved his family and it was evident in the way he would speak of them. My prayers go out to his family. He will be greatly missed.

MJ was a very close friend and I enjoyed working with for eight years as mayor of Stallings.  I was mayor when the town started the engineering position and was so impressed with his work ethics.  My family loved MJ also.  We will miss his smile and his humor.  Our prayers go to his family as they were his pride and joy.  God be with all of you.

My deepest condolences to Zarin, Sarah, Shirin and the rest of the family.  MJ was a kind and gracious person and a true professional.  He was passionate about his professional life as he was dedicated to his personal.  MJ was like a brother to me and part of the NCDOT family.  MJ and I studied together for the Professional Engineer's (PE) license some 20 years ago and I will never forget his sense of humor and zeal in all things.  I have so many fond memories of our times together and will always be grateful for having the blessing of knowing him.  He will never be forgotten, how could he be!  My prayers are for comfort and peace during this most painful time but, like so many others can attest, he was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.  Rest in peace my friend.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of MJs death. My best wishes go out to his family and friends. He was always a great help to us at DPR and we will miss him as a friend and professional colleague.

My sympathy to the Jafari-Namin family.  I knew MJ as a collegue and even better as a friend.  I will always remember his passion for whatever it was he was doing: talking, laughing, golfing, and talking some more.  I pray that God draws you near during this difficult time.

MJ's influence will always be seen throughout our towns and thru his family.  He was always passionate about doing the right thing, no matter what the cost.  His dedication to his work and to his family should be an inspiration to us all.  We miss you already, MJ.

We are greatly saddened by the news of Mehdi's passing.  May his soul rest in everlasting peace.  Although we spent a very short amount of time together, I will always remember Mehdi's sense of humor, exuberance and love of life, but most of all his love for his family.  The attached photo of a proud father is a small testimony of this love.  Zarin, Sarah and Shirin, our thoughts and prayers are with you.  May peace, love, and light be with you.

In the mid to late 80's, I as a young engineer had plans reviewed by MJ.  Over the years he has continued to "bleed" all over my submittals at the State, DOT, County an the various small towns.  We argued, cajoled and raised our voices a time or 2.  But always, we ended up laughing and smiling.  My sympathies to his family.  I was always impressed whenever he spoke of his girls.  He would seem to grow and glow with such an incredible sense of pride and love it was truly a joy to see.  Girls, know and cherish the love he had for you and carry that with you forever.

My Condolences.  My Uncle Mehdi was a strong and bold person and meant a lot to me.  He always made me laugh.  I remember him pinching me and try to box with me followed by a big "Bear Hug".  He had a smile that would attract everyone.  He was a people person.  My heart hurts of the loss but he has inspired many and will be remembered.  To my Aunt Zarin and Cousin's Sarah and Shirin I love you all and am there for you always.  Family is most important.

I remember when M.J. first came to work in Stallings when I was their Town Administrator ~ 15 years ago.  Neither one of us could barely understand each other (i.e., M.J. being from Iran and me being a country boy from Va. with a deep southern draw).  We became friends quickly and "talked trash" to each other all the time.  We had many a good times and shared many stories over the years.  He sucked at golf!  You will be missed my friend! I carry with me the vivid memory of Mehdi's mischievous smile, and appetite for celebrating life to the fullest. When our families vacationed together, Mehdi and I would engage in a "bucket list" of explorations and discoveries  leaving a trail in our wake of hoots, hollers and convulsive laughter. My heart breaks with his passing, but will forever be uplifted by his zest for life.

From the moment I met Mehdi, he embraced me in the special way that only Medhi could.  It started with a quick, yet thorough, inspection to see if I was fit to be a member of the family.  Thankfully, I passed, and was granted entry into Mehdi's world of laughs, hugs, music and dancing.  I learned so much from him in a short amount of time, about engineering, the saxaphone, and most importantly, how to be a father to strong, smart and beautiful daughters.  I will miss his hearty laugh, bright smile, the expressive way his eyes would light up and his one-of-a-kind, crushingly-powerful-and-full-of-love bear hugs.

There will always be a special place in my heart for my beloved brother-in-law Mehdi.  I do not have to close my eyes to see his grin, hear his laugh, feel his powerful hug, or recall his generosity.  Mehdi, Paul Greenfield, and I called ourselves "the three amigos" and that is what we will always be.  Mehdi, I believe you know that you are in my prayers.  You gave this life everything you had and now you are at peace.  God bless you always. Joe
