Born March 19, 1973 in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of Nancy Hall and Michael Greenway. In her early years she enjoyed figure skating and won a medal at the Junior Palmetto State Games. She also enjoyed fishing and spending time with her friends, as well as her younger sister.
Melanie moved to Charlotte in 1990 where she met and married Larry Brown on October 17, 1991. There they started their family of four children. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Larry Brown, and her four children: Kristen Brown of Fort Mill, Larry Brown, Jr. of Charlotte, Cameron Brown of Fort Mill and Peyton Brown of Charlotte. She is also survived by her 7 beloved grandchildren: Preston Leinweber, Delilah Leinweber, Isabella Tankersley, Oliver Leinweber, Ryleigh Tankersley, River Tankersley, and Scarlett Leinweber. She is also survived by her sister, Lisa Sasser of Fort Mill, SC and her nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
