Melody was the beloved daughter of Athena and Lester Wendt, both of whom preceded her in death. Throughout her life, she carried forward the values instilled in her by her parents—creativity, generosity, and a strong sense of community.
She is lovingly remembered by her four children: Bradley Michael (Candice), Kristi Stephenson, Stefani Piacentine (Colin), and Hollie Hendricks (Paul). Melody also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Brayden and Logan Michael; Aubriana and Aleczander Stephenson; Campbell Piacentine; and Marshall and Zane Hendricks. Melody is also survived by her half brother, Bruce Bichan.
Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in their accomplishments and happiness. Melody was a lover of animals and always had a cherished pet by her side; she leaves behind her beloved Miss Kitty and Misty Mae.
Melody had a gift for making life more beautiful. She found joy in cooking for friends, family, and neighbors—her kitchen often filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals shared with love. A talented seamstress and crafter, she poured her creativity into sewing projects and decorations that brought warmth to every space she touched.
In addition to her artistic talents, Melody was a passionate tennis player during her prime. Her competitive spirit shone on the court as she rose to become captain of the top-tier team at the Country Club where the family held membership. Her leadership and determination earned her respect among teammates and opponents alike.
Melody’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched—with kindness offered freely, beauty created from simple materials, and fierce love for those closest to her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
