Mildred Howard

Mrs. Howard, 96 of Matthews, NC passed away January 12, 2015 at CMC Main. She was a resident of Golden Living Center, Dartmouth in Charlotte, NC. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday January 16, 2015, at Amity Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Reverend Betsy Williamson, Senior Minister officiating.

Mrs. Howard was born September 23, 1918 in Mecklenburg County to the late John and Carrie Mae Dulin. She was associated with Hudson Hosiery Co. for many years. Mrs. Howard was a longtime member of Amity Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Morning Circle. She loved baking cakes and giving them to her friends and neighbors. She and her late sister, Helen Autry, made and decorated cakes for the 100th anniversary of Amity Presbyterian Church. She was known for her fresh coconut cakes for the Dulin Cousins Reunions. She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Floyd Howard, sister Helen Autry, brother Ray Dulin and brother in law Roland Howard. Survivors are her first cousin and caregiver Myrtle Lefler of Matthews, NC, special friends Marilyn Morton and Doris Fincher of Charlotte, and Frank and Susan Davies of Matthews.

The family gives a special thank you to the staff of Golden Living Center for their wonderful care of Mildred for the past six years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Amity Presbyterian Church Cemetery fund. 2831 N. Sharon Amity Rd, Charlotte, NC 28205
