

Charlotte - Mrs. Mildred Steinberg passed away on July 14, 2013. She was born on Sept. 9, 1916 in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Her large, happy family included her parents, James and Anna Rauchman; sisters, Estelle, Helen, Beatrice and Anita; and her brother, Alfred.
Mrs. Steinberg is survived by her brother, Alfred Rauchman; sister, Mrs. Anita Filenbaum; and her stepson, Dr. Kurt Dubowski. She found a job in the depths of the depression in spite of the times. She married Denny Eisner in the late forties.
Mrs. Stinberg was active in numerous charities and organizations. Denny Eisner died in the early 1960’s. Several years later, she met and married Werner Steinberg, M.D. They traveled the world together visiting the countries behind the Iron Curtain before they really opened up to tourists. In their seventies, they traveled to the Far East. After Dr. Steinberg passed away, Mildred remained active, playing golf and cards with family and friends. In 2006 she joined her sister, Beatrice at the Carriage Club of Charlotte. She was proud to be an ambassador, and was an active bridge player. Her indomitable spirit and courage are profoundly missed.
Her surviving family in Charlotte include her niece, Janet Smith, her husband Baxter Smith, and her grandnephew and niece, Adam and his wife Natalie Smith.
