Miriam Socorro Castillo

Charlotte, NC-Miriam Socorro Castillo, 66, joined her beloved mother and brother and found her peace from this world early Sunday morning, June 1, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center.

Born on July 22, 1947 in Sebaco, Nicaragua, Miriam was a daughter of the late Epifanio Altamirano and Tomasa Soza.

She is a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, confidant, and now an angel.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.

She retired November 21, 2013 from The Westin Hotel where she had been employed as a cook.

Survivors include her children, Vanessa Castillo, Roberto Castillo and Juan Castillo all of Charlotte and Nestor Castillo and his wife, Gwen of Austin, TX; three siblings, Gabriela Vasquez and husband Roberto of Charlotte, Alfredo Altamirano and Haydeey Soza both of Sebaco, Nicaragua, two grandchildren, Tomas and Yasmyne Castillo, her former husband, Enrique Castillo and a daughter-in-law, Char, along with many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.

A brother, Alvaro Altamirano preceded her in death.
