

Myrtle Mae Biggers Winchester went to be with her Lord February 8, 2017. Her homecoming was on her 76th wedding anniversary. She was born February 29, 1920 to John Frank Biggers and Myrtle Mae Moore Biggers. Her life was full of love for her family and friends. Her special quote was “My family is my garden”, and her garden flourished under her care.
Myrtle is survived by her loving husband, Charles Locke Winchester; Children, Cheryl Raiford, Myra Winchester and Chuck Winchester; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and her brother James Neil Biggers. She is preceded in death by her daughter Karen Sims, her parents, four brothers and five sisters.
Myrtle was very active at St. Johns United Methodist church for over 65 years. She served as Sunday School Teacher, Women’s Circle Leader, and Head of the Parsonage Committee. She loved summers with her family at Lake Norman and camp meeting at Pleasant Grove Campground in Mineral Springs, NC.
Services will be held at St. John’s United Methodist Church on Sunday February 12, 2017, visitation from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, memorial service from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Flowers are welcome.
