

Charlotte – Mrs. Fink, age 86, passed away on July 30, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 27, 1928 in Charlotte, North Carolina and grew up in the Derita area. She is the daughter of the late Alice Kerr Bowen and Levi Alexander Bowen, also of Charlotte.
Nancy was a classically trained singer who met and married Robert Fink of Bridgeton, NJ at Temple Israel in Charlotte, on January 18, 1959. She sang with the Charlotte Opera Company, the Dixie Belles, and other local bands. Bob and Nancy began raising their family, which includes their three children, Susan, Andy and Cathie. A devoted and loving mother to all three. She sang in the Temple Beth El Choir for over 40 years. She also loved traveling with her husband Bob in later years. Both are wonderful grandparents known as “Mimi and Popi” to their five grandchildren, Ashton, Catherine Anne, Mia, Samantha and Presley. She took care of everyone and never thought of herself.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Fink; son, Andy Fink and his wife Amber; daughters, Susan Romano and her husband Mike, and Cathie Wallace and her husband Gene; grandchildren, Ashton Schuler and husband Michael, Catherine Anne Wallace, Mia and Samantha Romano and Presley Fink.
The service will be held at 10 am on Monday, August 3, 2015 at The Mindy Ellen Levine Chapel at Hebrew Cemetery, 1801 Statesville Rd., Charlotte, with Rabbi Judith Schindler officiating.
