Nancy Robinson Jones

Nancy was 78 years old. She was born in Charlotte and lived her entire life here. She was the daughter and only child of the late Henry Neal Robinson and Opal Elrod Robinson.

Nancy was a wife, a mom, a grandmother (MeMe), a bookkeeper, a business owner/entrepreneur and many other things. She retired after 20+ years with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Register of Deeds. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, David James Jones; sons Robert Jones and wife Natalie of Statesville, Phillip Jones and his wife Rachel of Pensacola Beach, Florida and four grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both her parents and one grandchild.

Nancy loved people deeply, and told them that regularly. She was one of a few people, during these times anyway, that was born in Charlotte and lived her whole life here. She loved to travel and see new and different things regularly taking trips to visit friends, family, and wonderful sights as she and David drove through and across the United States.

While here, Nancy was a voracious reader - rarely seen without a book nearby and had bookshelves full of books she read and planned to read. She loved to make things and was "crafty" in that sense with years dedicated to her crafts. Many of us have cross-stitch, handmade cards, quilts, and other items that she spent hours creating. Though her family was not large, her love for others and the love for her will always be.

Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 10am at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte with burial immediately following at Sharon Memorial Park.
