Nancy Sloan Rea, 80, of Matthews, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013. She was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on April 2, 1933 to James Dewey Sloan and Mildred Alexander Sloan. She married Watson Peoples Rea on June 8, 1951.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rea was predeceased by children David Allan Rea and Steven Eugene Rea.
She is survived by her husband Watson, children Watson Michael Rea (Julie) of Catawba, SC, Cathy Rea Rhodes (Lee) of Greensboro, GA; grandchildren Jake, Mary, Wylie, and Grace Rea, and Sloan Rhodes Dobrin (Ryan) and Chance Rhodes; and great granddaughter Eula Rea of Catawba, SC. She is also survived by brothers Jim Sloan (Naomi) and Ken Sloan (Avie) of Fort Mill, SC.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, July 20th at Providence Presbyterian Church, 10140 Providence Church Lane, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 19th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC.
