Norma M. Grimaldi CHARLOTTE - Norma M. Grimaldi, 88, died peacefully at home, Saturday, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Norma, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother is fondly remembered for her warmth, optimism and love of life and family. Born in Paterson N.J., Norma and her husband Jim spent their time raising their three girls around the east coast. They finally settled in Charlotte in 1981. Norma Grimaldi will be remembered for her ability to connect with those around her. She had an amazing gift to make anyone in the room feel welcomed and loved - even at their first meeting. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James Grimaldi, her daughter Patricia Grimaldi Wisk and her husband Dr. Duane Wisk, her daughter Pamela Grimaldi Averill, her daughter Donna Grimaldi Steakley and her husband Neil Steakley, her grandchildren, Bryan Wisk, Bradley Wisk, Rebecca Averill, Jessica Wisk Harris, and Audrey Averill and one great-grandchild, Ana Clara Wisk. The family will be holding Mass on Tuesday, December 15 at St. Patrick's Cathedral at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends following the Mass at the Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice, 1420 East Seventh St., Charlotte, NC 28204.
