

Charlotte – Mrs. Fox, 64, passed away on May 5, 2015. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on February 7, 1951, a daughter of the late Barbara Spencer Rixon and Warren Edward Rixon. Mrs. Fox grew up in Charlotte and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work. She was an active member of the Charlotte Bridge Association and a member of the American Contract Bridge League, where she attained the rank of Silver Life Master. She was a sports enthusiast and an avid UNC Tarheel and Carolina Panthers fan.
She is survived by her daughters, Tricia Wilson Magee and husband Patrick of Charlotte; Joan Wilson Bauer and husband Kris of San Mateo, California; and Caroline Spencer Wilson of Charlotte; six grandchildren: Anne Louise and Spencer Magee of Charlotte; and Kesley, “KB,” Kellen, and Kate Bauer of San Mateo, California; and her long-time best friend, Portia Schiffman. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Louise Rixon; her second husband, Melvyn M. Fox; her first husband, Samuel A. Wilson, III; and her sisters, Cathleen Ouelette and Joanne Rixon.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 8, 2015, in Harry & Bryant’s “Chapel in the Oaks,” 500 Providence Road., Charlotte. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work.
