

Patrick Warren Huntley, age 70, received the best Christmas present ever, December 25, 2016, he got to see his Savior Jesus. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, on September 15, 1946, he was the oldest of five children of the late Calvin and Libby Huntley. In 1965, Pat married the love of his life, Georgia Sandra Lee Ballenger. He graduated from Clemson University in 1968 with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and also achieved the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army through ROTC while at Clemson. After graduation, he began a career at Duke Power in Charlotte that would span 30 years. His time at Duke was interrupted by a tour in Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star for meritorious service. After retirement from Duke Energy, he worked for SERC Reliability Corporation in Charlotte. To his family, he was a loving husband, a kind and gentle big brother and uncle who loved his family with all his heart and was a role model for us all.
Pat is survived by his wife of 51 years, Georgia Sandra Lee, of Charlotte; his sisters, Rev. Sonia Burleson of Weaverville, NC; Joan Miller and husband, Jon, of Amesbury, MA; his brothers, Thomas Huntley and wife, Frieda, of Fletcher, NC and Douglas Huntley, M.D. and wife, Rebecca, of Mountain Home, NC, and many adoring nieces and nephews. Visitation is from Noon until 1:45 on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Calvary Church, Charlotte, NC with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Officiates are the Rev. Jorge Prado, and Pat's nephews, the Rev. Samuel Burleson and Chaplain Saul Burleson, US Navy Corps. Committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Hooper's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Fletcher, North Carolina. Arrangements are by McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel.
