

Born July 29, 1947 in Rockville Center, NY, he was the son of the late Robert Edward Collins and Beatrice V. Odell Collins. Served in the US Navy from 1967 to 1971. After service, he moved with his family to Shelby, NC where he worked while attending at what was known as Cleveland County Technical College now known as Cleveland Community College with a degree in Industrial Management. After several different positions, he started to work at Radiator Specialty in 1978 as Computer Operator and continued his education at Central Piedmont Community College with a degree in Computer Programming, worked at Programming and by retirement in 2017 was now Senior Programmer Analyst from Radiator Specialty Chemical Solutions.
Paul loved following the Atlanta Braves, Hornets and Panthers. A true sports fan and devoted to his son and grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, former Marcia Radaker whom he married June 20, 1981; one son Paul Gregory Collins II (Giovanna) of Charlotte, NC and two beloved grandchildren Cecilia Marie and Sebastian David. Also survived by his brother Fr. James M Collins of Hickory, NC, sister Margaret Mary Collins of Shelby, NC, sister Joan Marie C. Garrison (Craig) of Kings Mountain, NC, brother Edward A Collins (Sara) of Mooresville, NC, sister Darby Ann C. Fitzpatrick (James) of Front Royal, Virginia, and brother Brian G Collins (Angela) of Albemarle, NC. There are many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews in addition to the other survivors.
A visitation for Paul will be held Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service Inc., 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Monday, October 13, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Saint Philip Neri Church, 292 Munn Rd E, Fort Mill, SC 29715. A committal service will occur Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 12:30 pm at Salisbury National Cemetery Annex, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144 (family only).
