Pauline Freeman Reid

Pauline Freeman Reid, age 96 of Charlotte passed away August 31, 2013. A service to celebrate her life will be at 1:30PM Tuesday, September 3rd at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, Dr. Jeff Pinkston officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior (12:30-1:30PM) to the service at the church. Mrs. Reid was born April 19, 1917 in Union County daughter of the late Frank and Odie Hathcock Freeman. She was a charter member of McQuay Memorial Presbyterian Church where she received a Life Membership of the Women of the church, was very active in her Circle and had taught Sunday School there. Mrs. Reid is presently a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Surviving her is a daughter, Phyllis Reid Odom and husband, Jimmy of Charlotte, daughter-in-law Mary Reid of Charlotte and a special other daughter, Lil Debbie Barbee, grandchildren, Mitch, Michael, Chris, and Anthony, great grandchildren, Chloe, Jimmy, Shelby Justice, and Fran, In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Reid, Jr., a son, James Reid and a brother, Harry Freeman. The family would like to thank Olde Knox Commons and Hospice for all their love and care given to Pauline while in their care. The family will be at the home of Phyllis and Jimmy Odom. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, 6701 Pleasant Grove Rd., Charlotte, NC, 28216.
