Philip Templeman, 21, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident that morning. Philip was born in Charlotte on February 12, 1995. He was a graduate of South Mecklenburg High School, and had attended CPCC and UNCC. He is survived by his parents, Kathy and David Templeman of Charlotte. He is also survived by his sister Erin McIntyre and brother Andrew McIntyre. In addition, he is survived by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Donald Duchon of Manitowoc, WI, and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Philip was a beautiful, happy child who was on his way to becoming a wonderful young man. He loved sports such as snow-boarding, wake-boarding, long-boarding, and using a ripstick. He enjoyed fishing, and jumping off the occasional bridge or boathouse. As a youngster, he enjoyed Y basketball, Y soccer and T-ball, usually under the skillful coaching of his Mom. He also was quite gifted academically, and was an excellent student.
Philip had a good sense of humor and a great smile. He did not have the chance to break the hearts of many young ladies, but his absence breaks the hearts of all who knew him. He loved to spoil all the family's dogs with "tweets", especially our rescue dog Katie, who bonded with Philip as soon as he saw her in the kennel.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Friday, January, 20, 2017 at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210. A Celebration of Philip's life will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Sardis Presbyterian Church, 6100 Sardis Rd., Charlotte, NC 28270. The Rev. Dr. David G. McKechnie will preside.
Memorials can be sent to Sardis Presbyterian Church, 6100 Sardis Rd., Charlotte, NC 28270; or to Heavensown Rescue, 6415 Marvin Fowler Rd., Waxhaw, NC 28173, www.heavensownrescue.net. On-line condolences may be offered at www.mcewenpinevillechapel.com
