

Colleen Washam Poston of Charlotte, NC died peacefully at home January 6, 2011. She was born in Iredell County, daughter of the late Worth Washam and Lola Shoemaker Washam. Known for her sweet spirit, Mrs. Poston served many years beside her husband in the nursery and pre-school departments of the churches he pastored. She also worked many years in various retail establishments providing excellent service to her customers and clients. Mrs. Poston was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Ernest Poston, Jr. and her brother, Calvin (Sonny) Miller. She is survived by her children, Ernest Carroll Poston and wife, Barbara of Iron Station, Marcia Palmeter and husband, Ken of Oak Island, Glenna Roush and husband, Mike of Charlotte, Myra Faulkenbury of Concord and Lisa Savage and husband, Joe of Fort Mill, sister-in-law, Sybli Jacobs and husband, Charlie of Landis, brother-in-law, Roy Poston and wife, Martha of Mooresville, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous cousins nieces, and nephews. A visitation will be from 1:00-2:00PM Sunday at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home with a service to celebrate her life to begin at 2:00PM in the Chapel conducted by Reverend Ralph Riley. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
