

He was preceded in death by his parents Jessie and Lydia Kinley of Waxhaw and his wife of 52 years Nancy Kinley of Charlotte. Surviving family includes his brother Bob Kinley (wife JoAnne) of Matthews; daughter Donna Brookshire (husband Gray) of Charlotte; son Don Kinley of Charlotte; twin grand-children Allison Coore (husband Andrew) of Concord; Grayson Brookshire (wife Ashley) of Concord; great-grandsons Mason Coore and Colt Brookshire both of Concord.
Born in Waxhaw, NC on April 4, 1932, he grew up on the family dairy farm, graduated from Pineville High School, and then enlisted in the Air Force. Employers include Bank of Charlotte and Life of Virginia but his most rewarding and latest job was as co-owner of K & K Fun Foods which he shared with his son.
Family and friends will remember him as a loving and devoted husband to the love of his life Nancy, whom he longed to reunite with in heaven. A lifetime of cherished and happy memories will remain with his family. He loved his dog, playing steel guitar, and introduced his family to racing and camping which they enjoy to this day.
A celebration of his life will be held at his church, Eastway Baptist Church, 2749 Eastway Drive, at 2 o’clock on Tuesday, June 28 with Pastor David Gales and Michael Owens officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to express gratitude and thanks to two special physicians, Dr. Stuart Garner and Dr. Jonathan McLean.
