Reese Jackson Austin Sr.

He is survived by his four children: son Reese Austin Jr., of Charlotte NC; daughter Pamela Dickey and husband Kenneth Dickey of Knoxville, TN; daughter Carol Weeks, of Charlotte, NC, and son Stephen Austin of Lenoir, NC .

He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Margaret Austin of Charlotte, NC.

Mr. Austin was born on March 19, 1920 in Charlotte, NC to parents Joseph H. Austin and Mary Lora

Helms. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather to Robbie Gunter, Elizabeth Weeks, Lauren Rosenbush, Alex Creveling, Katy Sigmon, Lucas Austin, and great-grandfather to Caroline Rosenbush and Peyton Kieley.

Mr. Austin served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he served many roles including Elder and Deacon.

The family will greet friends and family Saturday, June 17 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm in the church parlor

at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3115 Providence Rd., Charlotte followed at 3:00pm with a service to

celebrate his life in the Sanctuary. A private burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
