Richard Patton Hambleton, Sr.. age 55 of Charlotte passed away October 20, 2012, A gathering of family and friends will be a from12:30-1:30PM Thursday at Mulberry Baptist Church with a service to celebrate his life to begin at 1:30, Pastor Larry Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery
Mr. Hambleton was born in Wilmington, Delaware May 19, 1957. He was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church where he has served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, children’s ministry and with the R A’s, and retired as a Supervisor from the Pneumafil Corporation. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Karen Hambleton, children, David Hambleton, Sr. (Jody) of Gastonia, NC, Sara Hambleton and Elizabeth Hambleton both of Charlotte, mother, Audrey Hambleton of Wilmington Deleware, sister, Jeraldine Morehouse of Conway, SC and 6 grandchildren, brothers, Jeff Hambleton and Ben Hambleton of Wilmington, Deleware. He was preceded in death by his father, William B. Hambleton and a son Richard P. Hambleton, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Hambleton Memorial Fund, 504 S. Web St. Gastonia, NC 28052.
