
Richard Allen Robinson, Sr., age 83, of Charlotte, NC, born on August 14, 1933 in Elmira NY, a son of the late William Benjamin Robinson and Delphine Benson, passed away Saturday evening, May 20, 2017 at Sardis Oaks Nursing Facility.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Robinson and longtime companion Blanche Clayton-Smith.
Survived by his children Richard Robinson Jr., Michael Robinson (Kimberly), Derek Robinson (Tina), Sonya Robinson, Craig Robinson, and Heather Hallenbeck (Everett); his siblings Mary (Henry), William Jr.(Phyllis), and Lauretta; 22 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and his former wife and very dear friend, Elaine Geder.
Mr. Robinson was a veteran of the US Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. He also was retired from Alpha Metals Inc. in Jersey City, NJ where he had been employed as a machine operator. He enjoyed sports, the beach and Mountain Dew. But his greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the care of Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service.

His family would like to give special thanks to Elaine Geder, as well as Sardis Oaks staff for the care and kindness they provided to Richard.
