

Born July 4, 1958 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of John and Ann Taylor. He grew up in Burlington, NC graduating from Walter Williams High School. He went on to attend North Carolina State University with a Chemical Engineer degree in the Pulp and Paper field. He owned Refiners Products Manufacturing until he retired in 2022.
Rick was a proud member of North Carolina State University Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He extensively served his local chapter as President and mentor for many years after he graduated. He ultimately served the International Organization as Chairman of the Board. He also helped create and provided ongoing support for DU’s Global Service Initiative in Jamaica.
Rick was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church serving on the Parish and Finance Councils. His strong faith carried him through the years. He was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre reaching the rank of Knight Commander with a Star. He felt the plight of the Catholic Christians in the Holy Lands leading him to serve as the Section President for many years focusing on its growth and mission..
Rick was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He married Terri June 25, 1983. He raised 3 active boys and was their biggest support as they grew. He had a love for baseball and golf as did his sons.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Teresa (Terri) Yaun Taylor, three sons, Troy Ashton Taylor, his wife, Mary Claire Taylor, granddaughters, Mary Grace and Lilah of Waxhaw, Warren Michael Taylor, his wife Caitlin Amborski Taylor, granddaughter Catherine of Rochester, NY, and Britt Alexander Taylor of Darlington, SC. He is survived by his brother John Xavier Taylor and his wife Sherry Taylor of North Point, Florida, sister Marianne Taylor Hicks of Kittery, Maine, sister Donna Taylor Richards and her husband Rick Richards of Gibsonville, NC, sister Terry Taylor Young, her husband Dana Young of Nashville, TN, and his brother Paul Xavier Taylor and his wife Michelle Taylor of Burlington, NC. He also was survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and John Taylor.
A Funeral Mass for Rick will be at St. Ann Catholic Church, 3635 Park Road, Charlotte, NC on Wednesday, February 11 at 10:30. A Rosary will be said at 10:00 prior to the Mass. Private burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Salisbury, NC February 12, 2026.
Donations in his honor are preferred to Miravia or Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Charlotte, but flowers are welcome for those who wish to send them.
