Robert "Bobby" Edward Gums Sr.

Known by most simply as "Bobby", that is, until the arrival of his first two grandkids, born just ten days apart, who quickly renamed him and will forever be lovingly remembered as "Honey".

He was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, later moving to Pineville NC where he raised his family. He loved his family deeply and his greatest pleasure was being surrounded by them as often as possible.

Bobby, "Honey", is survived by his constant companion and loving wife, Betty, son Robert (Bobby) Edward Gums Jr, wife Sherry, and grandsons Tyler and Zackary Mayo, daughter Teresa Price, husband Benny, and granddaughters Kayla and Tara Price and Jamarius Hough, and great granddaughter Kayton Hough, daughter Lynn Darnell, husband Tony, and grandchildren Jordan, Dalton, and Peyton, and very many that are truly considered as extended family.

His family misses him greatly but finds wonderful peace and comfort in their hearts with the knowledge that he is no longer cold all the time and that he has regained his lost appetite and is now feasting at Jesus' table.

Services will be held at Pineville Church of the Nazarene, 8614 Pineville - Matthews Rd., Charlotte, NC 28226 on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 with a Memorial Service beginning at 2 pm, and a time of Visitation afterwards.
