

He was born on Mar. 29, 1948, in Charlotte to Robert Blair Hinson, Sr. and Annie Coltharp Hinson.
He had been a police officer with the CMPD for thirty years, retiring in 1998. Following his retirement, he was a reserve policeman for eight years. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Even though Blair lost both of his legs, he maintained a positive outlook and zest for life. He was a huge animal lover who had four dogs and five cats. They were very special in his heart. He was also an avid University of North Carolina Tar Heels fan.
His family will greet friends on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, from 1-2p.m. at the McEwen-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, in Charlotte followed by his funeral service at 2p.m. Dr. Kent Cranford of the Loray Baptist Church in Gastonia will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, in Charlotte. Following his burial, everyone is invited back to the funeral chapel for a catered reception and fellowship.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Bolick Hinson; his daughter, Kim Hinson; his mother, Annie; his brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Hinson; and his niece, Kelly Hinson.
