It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Burns Antonio Minott, who peacefully left us on March 3, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on February 25, 1970, in Jamaica, West Indies, Robert was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was the beloved son of Darnell Minott and the late Henry Minott, and the loving brother of Judy King (Minott). Robert is also deeply missed by his brother-in-law, Antonio King, and his niece, Taylor King, as well as his uncles, aunts, cousins, and a wide circle of friends, all of whom loved him dearly.
Robert moved to Rochester, NY from Jamaica in 1986, where he embraced his new life and became known for his warm and compassionate nature. Over the years, Robert worked as a transportation specialist, a role that allowed him to travel the country, meet new people, and build lasting relationships. His sense of adventure and curiosity about the world made him a joy to be around.
A true lover of sports, Robert not only played soccer but also coached it, sharing his passion and knowledge with others. His love for the game and his dedication to the players he coached left a lasting impact on many. In addition to soccer, Robert enjoyed reading, finding solace in books and always eager to learn more. He also had a passion for video games and swimming, which brought him great joy and relaxation.
Above all, Robert had a deep love of God and his faith was a guiding light in his life. His belief in God’s love and grace gave him strength and peace, and he shared this love with those around him. His devotion to his faith was evident in everything he did, and it inspired others to live with kindness, compassion, and generosity.
In his final act of kindness, Robert shared the gift of life as an organ donor where many have benefitted from his selfless decision to give others the chance for a better life.
Robert’s journey through life was marked by his kind heart, generosity, and his unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His presence brought warmth and light into the lives of everyone he encountered. Whether through shared stories, laughter, or his genuine care for others, Robert had a unique way of making everyone feel important.
Robert's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness and love.
