Robert Hanes Woodard

Robert Hanes Woodard, 71, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on Sunday January 29, 2012. Born in Pamlico, NC, Robert was the son of the late Vance and Neva Woodard. Robert retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and was the former owner of Harborside Grocery in Oriental, NC where he was a member of the First Baptist Church. After moving to Charlotte, NC in 1996, he drove a truck for G&P and FedEx Ground. Robert was a member of Harrison United Methodist Church and the Discussion Sunday School class there. Robert loved sharing his life with family and friends.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Broughton Woodard; son, Robert Hanes Woodard Jr. and wife Angel of Weddington, NC; daughter, Julie Bladel and husband Tom of Pineville, NC; 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Joel and Kayla Woodard; 3 step-grandchildren, Cassandra, Kim and Mary Beth Bladel and brother, Vance Woodard Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 immediately followed by a reception at Harrison United Methodist Church, 15008 Lancaster Hwy., Pineville, NC 28134. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert’s honor to Harrison United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
