Roddie W. Dover

October 27, 1919 – February 15, 2016

Heaven has received another angel. Roddie was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina in 1919 in Dilworth near Tremont Road. She was the oldest child of Harles Wingate and Dollie King Wingate. She married her loving companion, Clyde Barney Dover who preceded her in death after 54 years of marriage. Roddie was blessed with a loving family of 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Richard, William, Edna, Doris, and Shirley completed the Wingate family, all who have preceded her in death except for Doris.

She attended Mulberry Baptist Church. She leaves the following survivors: two children: Ron and Elaine Griffin, Doug and Beth Dover; step sons- Clyde and Jean Dover, Jerry and Faye Dover; 5 grandchildren -Charlie Dover (Kathy), Christy Shealy (Earl), Shayla Drost (Harry), Matt Dover (Leslie) and Pat Dover (Amanda). She had 8 great grandchildren - Maria Drost, Lindsay Shealy, Stephen Shealy, Axton Drost, Abbey Martin, Anna-Grace Dover, Izzy Dover, and Kayla Dover; and her sister Doris Williams (Clyde).

Funeral services are planned for 1:00 pm Friday, February 19, 2016 at Mulberry Baptist Church, 6450 Tuckaseegee Rd., Charlotte. Friends may visit from noon to 1:00 pm at the church. Burial will take place in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
