Rodney L. Royal, age 49, beloved husband of Melanie (Frazier) Royal, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014. Born in Charlotte on May 4, 1965, he was the son of Herman Parker Royal and the late Nancy (Lipe) Royal.
Rodney was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America as a Scoutmaster for Troop 23 in Charlotte for nearly 10 years. He was employed by Univar as a driver for several years, and was also an avid photographer. Besides his wife, Melanie, he is survived by 3 children; John Parker Royal, Grayson Lee Royal and Elijah Raine Royal, all of Charlotte; a brother Derek Parker Royal and wife Amanda, sisters-in-law Brenda Thompson and Rose Frazier, brother-in-law John Frazier and mother-in-law Doris Frazier.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20th, 2 PM in the Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered through www.forestlawnwest.com.
