Roger D. Boatwright

Mr. Boatwright, 53, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 following a long illness.

Roger was an avid Tarheel basketball fan and loved sports of all kinds. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a carpenter by trade, but it was also his Art. Roger was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billie Fay Boatwright.

Roger is survived by his mother, Dawn Auten; his daughter, Cassie Boatwright; his brother, Ron Boatwright and his wife Jamie; his brother, Rick Boatwright; his sister, Marie Taylor and her husband Kenny; his brother, Robert and his wife Christy; and his brother, Randy and his wife Marsha. He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Harry and Bryant Company, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. The family will receive friends following the service.
