

Born April 30, 1949 in Staten Island, New York, he was the son of the late Dorren Schneider and step son of the late Edward Guerin. Following graduation from Port Richmond High School, Ronnie enlisted in the United States Army in 1969 and served his country in the Vietnam War. He was bestowed the honors of National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Purple Heart. He attended Wagner College and later pursued a career in Heating and Cooling working at Al’s Heating in Staten Island and ultimately retired as an Engineer from Hunter College, Manhattan, New York in 2016.
Ronnie was a devout parishioner of Holy Family Church in Staten Island and St. Matthews Church in Charlotte.
Ronnie’s life centered around his family. He adored his wife, the former Diane Walkerwicz whom he married on November 5, 1972. He was also a devoted father and grandfather who relocated to Charlotte to be with them in 2018. He was a jack of all trades and could fix or build almost anything. He enjoyed guitar, fishing, watching sports, and spending time with his pals at Denino’s.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Diane Barnard; two children, Kelly Carroll and Casey Barnard, two grandchildren, Aubrey and Courtney Carroll; and his sons in law, Eric Carroll and Christopher Miranda.
A service to celebrate Ronnie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2026 in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service—Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road. Condolences may be offered at www.McEwenPinefilleChapel.com.
