Ronald Meyers

Mr. Meyers, 79, of Charlotte, NC passed away on May 12, 2012 at Levine-Dickson Hospice. He was born on April 1, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late Harry and Dorothy Meyers.

Ron’s first love was his beloved late wife Jeri, followed by his love for his family, music, cooking and fast cars. He had a successful career as a self employed actuary, specializing in pension plans.

Most recently he was known for his jazz blog, in which he served as a mentor for people all over the world, helping to foster their love and understanding of jazz music.

He is survived by his daughters, Julie Cassell and Carlie Bastine, son-in-law, Allen Cassell, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Temple Beth El, with Rabbi Judith Schindler officiating. Burial will follow at Hebrew Cemetery.
