Ronald “Ron” John Sass, 85, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on May 2nd, 2024. Born on August 27th, 1938 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Ron was a son, brother, father, grandfather “Grandman” uncle and friend. He cherished the time spent with family and friends. Throughout his life, he always had a furry friend by his side and showered his dogs with endless affection and love. Ron loved to travel around The Smoky Mountains, you could say it was his hobby. Through his travels he enjoyed chatting with the locals and buying a craft or two, or three he could have opened his own gallery.
He was always a steady and calming presence in the family, a wise man who would listen quietly and then give you his heartfelt advice. Ron was known for his upstanding demeanor and charm, he was a true gentleman and was easily adored by those who knew him. He had a magnetism that made him a pleasure to be around.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Haynam (Kenny), brother, Jimmy Sass; sister, Carol Mestas (Don); and mother of his daughters, Blanche Sass; and is survived by daughters Kim Bossick (Doug); Liz Jahnigen (Gary); grandchildren Trevor and Karli Jahnigen; sister Kathleen Schoonmaker (Bill) along with many nephews and nieces.
Ron will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A memorial service of his life will be held on June 8th at 11:00 am:
