

Roy Neal Rosen, 62, of Charlotte, passed away on Saturday, November 18th, after a long battle with lymphoma, diabetes, and heart disease. Roy was born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 16, 1955, a son of Murray and Estelle Rosen. Since 1969, Roy and his family have lived in Charlotte.
A 1973 graduate of South Mecklenburg High School, he was a well-known radio personality at several radio stations in Charlotte, Gulfport, MS, and Syracuse, NY. At sixteen, Roy was one of the youngest on-air DJs in Charlotte, having started his long career on WIST-AM. He also created a highly successful mobile DJ company, Roy Rosen Productions, and volunteered a great amount of DJ work for many charities. He loved classic movies, photography and videography, his Honda Gold Wing, and especially his beloved Husky, "Nipper."
Roy is survived by his mother, Estelle Rosen of Charlotte, NC; brother, Carl Rosen and wife, Freda, also of Charlotte; and niece, Adriana Rosen Canan, husband Rob, and nephew, Bobby, of Asheville, NC. Roy is predeceased by his father, Murray Rosen; and sister, Susan Rosen Patterson.
A memorial and graveside service will be held at the Hebrew Cemetery of Charlotte, 1801 Statesville Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21.
