Ruby S Smith

Heaven welcomed a faithful soul, September 10th, 2017. Beloved Sister, Aunt, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Ruby Lucille Stikeleather Smith departed this earth to begin her everlasting life in the presence of the Lord. Ruby passed away quietly at Kingston Nursing Center in Conway, South Carolina.

A native of Indian Trail, North Carolina, Ruby, the youngest child of David Leroy and Edna Greene Thompson Stikeleather, was born on June 26th, 1925. She is survived by her three daughters, Susan S. Russo (Lido Beach, New York), Jane S. James (Conway, South Carolina), Beth S. Meyers (Richmond, Virginia) and their spouses, children and grandchildren.

Ruby was a resident of Charlotte for over eighty years. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing and worked as an RN for over forty years. She was an avid reader, gardener, and was well known for her homemade cookies, cakes and candies. Ruby was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church.

A Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14th at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, in the Paul Helton Chapel, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow the Service. Reverend Gene Boatwright is officiating.
